KA210-YOU - Small-scale partnerships in youth (KA210-YOU)
Project Name: Increasing the self-guidance and active citizenship skills of migrant youth living in marginalised contexts through the narrative orientation approach
Project Acronym: NARRIANCE
Project Consortium: Möllans Basement - Sweden (Coordinator), Empirica - Italy (Partner), TechCreas - Turkey (Partner)
Project Description:
Marginalised migrant youth often face various social problems, including poverty, social exclusion, and limited access to education and training opportunities. Discrimination and lack of social integration can contribute to these challenges. In particular most of the time they are not in the condition to be aware and to show what they really are and what they would like to do in terms of knowledge, talents, competences. That is a huge limit to their employability and represents an obstacle to their process of integration into the labour market. Moreover, this is a limit even in their process of social inclusion, since very often they remain at the margins of the local society and they don’t participate in the citizenship initiatives of their own territories. The narrative Orientation approach aims to provide tools and skills for self-orientation, to better understand ourselves and what happens to us, what we want and what our life is about.
The concrete objectives the project aims to achieve are:
- Acquired proper personal vision and employability perspectives of marginalised migrant youth for their integration in the labour market
- Increased sense of active citizenship of marginalised migrant youth through the promotion of local activities of social value that have positive impacts in their own territories
- Increased the capacity of youth workers to support marginalised migrant youth in fostering their employability perspectives and sense of active citizenship
